Ash class have had lots of spooky fun this week with our book 'Room on a Broom'. We have learnt rhyming spells and made our own spell books. We have drawn and labelled the story characters, weaved spiders' webs and mixed our own potions. We also had a visit from the drama company Drama4All and had a super time on our adventure with Phileas Fogg.

In Year 1&2 we have been learning about what animals, including humans need for survival.
We found out that they need AIR, WATER, FOOD and SHELTER.

The children have enjoyed their art this half term. They have learnt about the Russian artist Kandinsky. Come along and see our work inthe school corridor.
We have also been designing our own Christmas cards ready to be published.
We finished our history topic off by making our own lamp just like the one Florence Nightingale used.

What a busy last week the children have had in Oak Class! We have been continuing to read our class text 'Peace at Last' and learning all about houses and homes. The children have been busy designing and building their own houses in our loose parts areas and outdoor construction site and have also drawn and talked about the people that they live with. Our daily Dough Disco sessions are still a popular part of our afternoons, especially with Friday's spooky themed song!

The children have loved exploring gigantic pumpkins this week! We have been using tweezers and utensils to cut them open and pick out the seeds (very messy fun was had by all!). Lots of fantastic conversations could be heard, from Halloween adventures, to stories about pumpkin growing, picking and carving - what a great way to work on our fine motor skills and explore family traditions.
