What a busy last week the children have had in Oak Class! We have been continuing to read our class text 'Peace at Last' and learning all about houses and homes. The children have been busy designing and building their own houses in our loose parts areas and outdoor construction site and have also drawn and talked about the people that they live with. Our daily Dough Disco sessions are still a popular part of our afternoons, especially with Friday's spooky themed song!

The children have loved exploring gigantic pumpkins this week! We have been using tweezers and utensils to cut them open and pick out the seeds (very messy fun was had by all!). Lots of fantastic conversations could be heard, from Halloween adventures, to stories about pumpkin growing, picking and carving - what a great way to work on our fine motor skills and explore family traditions.

In Y1&2 Class we have been learning about Florence Nightingale. We met her in our drama lesson. We travelled back in the time machine to the Crimean War.

IN Pe we have been using skills to pass the ball and move theball with out hands. We have been working with a partner and as part of a team.

Year 1 and 2 have been learning about pulse and playing the notes C & D on the glockenspiel. We have been learning abou trock music.

We had lots of fun in Ash class last week. We started our new topic 'Peace at Last' and have been learning the story and drawing pictures of ourselves tucked up in bed. We also finished our amazing art work which can be seen along the main school corridor. The children have also been busy practising letter formation and pattern making during their 'adventure time'. We also want to say a big well done to all of the children who have been awarded rosettes so far!

This week Ash class have been focussing on the numbers 1, 2 and 3. The children have played games with the numbers 1, 2 and 3 and beyond! Some even invented their own ways of playing with numbers. During Welly Wednesday we made potions with 1, 2 or 3 natural items (which we then added more to, plus lots of water)! We had a tea party for the bear's 3rd birthday with 2 guests plus the birthday bear and during their adventure time, children chose to write invitations and make bunting for the party in our 'Land of Far Away'. For whole school art week this week we have used our cutting skills to cut strips of colourful card to make a background and added pictures that we have drawn of ourselves. We have also used a variety of media to make heart pictures, all in the Pop Art style of Andy Warhol. We will be continuing this next week - photographs to follow!! On Friday we had our TT Rockstars day, the children looked amazing!!

Willow have been learning about food chains and spent the afternoon creating different ones! They learnt and revised vocabulary such as producer, consumers, herbivores, omnivorres and carnivores!
